Water-Resource Management

Dredging Water Resource InfrastructureAs our cities continue to grow the need for adequate freshwater supply increases. WRScompass has the equipment and skills to improve existing canals, levees, and reservoirs, or design and construct new control structures.

Additionally, our water-resource restoration and improvement services include industrial and municipal wastewater effluent, stormwater runoff, groundwater aquifers, streams, lakes, wetland ecosystems, and coastal tidewater estuaries.

Water Resource Infrastructure

Dredging Surface-Water and WetlandsMany of our nation's dikes and reservoirs are in need of repair, or new water control structures are needed to keep up with the population growth. Customers need a contractor who will respond quickly. WRScompass has the tools to design and construct water control structures. This includes building levees, digging canals, or even constructing reservoirs.

Surface-Water and Wetlands

Federal, state, and local government agencies recognize the important role that stream channels and wetlands serve in sustaining water quality, wildlife habitats, soil retention, aquifer recharge, flood control, and countless other functions integral to larger and more complex ecosystems.

The collective value of preserving wetlands has translated into an emerging market for companies with the resources and expertise to perform wetlands remediation and water resource restoration services.

WRScompass is one of only a few contractors recognized as national leaders in this field and provides services to a broad community of landowners, utility companies, federal and state agencies, and conservation organizations.

By making substantial investments in specialized equipment and by cross-training our production crews in the biological and ecological aspects of this unique type of construction, WRScompass is well-prepared to meet the needs of our customers in these service areas:

  • Direct project wetlands mitigation
  • Wetlands mitigation banking
  • Sediment remediation
  • Stream channel and basin restoration
  • Wildlife habitat construction
  • Constructed wetland cells for supplemental wastewater treatment
  • Drinking water reservoir development
  • Mining site reclamation
  • Stormwater and erosion control systems
  • Coastal zone restoration and tidal estuary enhancements
  • Waterfront property development
  • Sediment remediation -- dredging/in situ capping.
