Richard Santello
President and Chief Operating Officer
Richard Santello has nearly 25 years of experience in the environmental arena. He has a strong operations background in the sectors of remediation, hazardous and nuclear waste management, and renewable energy.
Prior to joining WRScompass, Mr. Santello founded and served as President of CE2, LLC, a consulting firm contracted by Mission Point Capital Partners, LLC and other commercial companies to identify investment opportunities and to provide counsel on business valuation, due diligence and operations management.
Rich’s career also included the roles of President, North America at Bedminster International, Inc., a start-up waste-to-energy company, and Chairman, President and CEO of MHF Logistical Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of transportation, packaging and technical services of nuclear, hazardous and non-hazardous materials and wastes. While at MHF, he opened a new division of the $100 million company in the United Kingdom.
Rich created three new divisions at Clean Harbors, Inc., North America’s leading provider of environmental, energy and industrial services. He served as Senior Vice President for each of the new groups, which included a $75 million Landfill Services division, where he developed nine landfills in the U.S. and Canada; a $175 million Disposal Services Group, including the company’s large-projects group; and a $60 million Distributor Services Group.
Rich also served as one of two Division Presidents for EnviroSource, Inc., a $235 million industrial services company. In this role, he led the firm’s Technologies division, which provided industrial, hazardous and nuclear waste management services to industry and government. Rich was responsible for turning around the $50 million division within one year, achieving the best financial performance in the division’s history, and dramatically improving safety performance.
His earlier career included sales and engineering positions at Buonicore Cashman & Associates, an environmental engineering firm.
Rich holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the
University of
Rhode Island .
