Eric joined WRScompass with a diverse background in process improvement and performance measurement. With Budget Car & Truck rental for 9 years, he helped create centralized support functions in Revenue Management, Sales & Marketing and Operations. He worked with operations staff throughout the country on process improvement valued at several 100 millions of dollars. He worked on projects to integrate sister companies into Budget Group (Premier Car Rental & Ryder Truck Rental) including technology, process & organizational structure. He also led a number of initiatives to improve information technology, including data warehousing, revenue management and reservation systems.
With Educational Resources and Sunburst Technology, he helped integrate the two educational software companies while transforming their overall business model. He helped the sales department change from passively taking orders to actively identifying new business and maximizing profit. As a result, Educational Resources became the second largest LAR in education for Microsoft. He also led the team that created a strategic partnership with Apple computers which allowed the company to fulfill all of Apples orders for educational software & educate the Apple sales team on Educational Software. He redesigned the database marketing programs of the company to cut expenses by 30% for 2 consecutive years without a reduction in revenue generation.
With the Tribune Company, he was responsible for a product management group within Tribune and led the team that brought all of the media divisions onto a common CRM platform. This was the first project in the history of Tribune where print, broadcast and interactive divisions all shared a common tool and replaced over 11 different applications & processes. He also helped to create a national outbound telesales organization helping them to increase the sales by rep over 100%. And he worked with the Tribune Interactive division to create standards for evaluating the revenue performance of Tribune websites.
